PRODUCTION #1: IMPROVISATIONAL COMEDY SHORTS

Are you good at making people laugh?  Do you think quickly?  Do you like being silly?  Are you a fan of the tv show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”  If you said yes to any of these questions, Improvisational Comedy Shorts is the activity for you!  We’ll learn 6-8 really cool games and present them to an audience.  You’ll laugh until milk comes out of your nose, or your frowns will be cheerfully refunded!  This activity rehearses at Badger Ridge, but there is a bus that takes Savanna Oaks students to BRMS!

Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays starting September 13th from 3:45-5:30

pm

Performances: Thursday, October 6th during the day and evening (you will need

to be at BRMS at 6:00 that night for the 7:00 show, the show will end at 8:45, we

will have a cast only cast party until 9:30 pm)

PRODUCTION #2: ONE ACT PLAYS

This is a series of four one act plays.  Every student who auditions will be cast in one show.  Three shows rehearse at Badger Ridge.  One show rehearses at Savanna Oaks.  You may audition for any show!  Transportation will be provided.

The Monday night show will rehearse at SOMS.  It will be the comedy “Wait...Wait...I Can Explain”. A young man wants to impress his girlfriend, but thinks his real family is too boring, so he hires actors to play his family. Comic chaos ensues when his real family returns unexpectedly. We did this show six years ago to tremendous audience response!

The Tuesday night show will rehearse at BRMS.  It will be the drama “Little Women.” Based on the classic book by Louisa May Alcott, this one act version features the four March sisters and their mother during the Civil War. Come see why this story is a classic!

The Wednesday night show will rehearse at BRMS.  “The Importance of Being Earnest” is a classic comedy written by Oscar Wilde. Two young men are interested in two young women whom will only marry a man named Earnest. How important is it to be Earnest?

The Thursday night show will rehearse at BRMS.  It is the comedy “15 Reasons Not To Be In A Play” by Alan Haehnel. It features an ensemble cast of kids who take turns telling the audience why they hate theatre. A theatre show about hating theatre? It’s wickedly funny. We did this show eight years ago to tremendous audience response.

All casts will have a total of 10 rehearsals, with Saturday rehearsals on November 5th, 19th and December 3rd. You are strongly encouraged to read scripts before auditioning.  Here’s how:
