First Concert of the School Year...

Dear Families of Choir and Orchestra Students:

It is hard to believe that we are writing this letter and it is already October! This year is already flying and the kids are working hard to succeed.

On Tuesday, October 24th the Badger Ridge/Core Knowledge 6th Grade Choir, 7th Grade Girls Choir, and 7th Grade Orchestra will present their first concert of the school year. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Gymnasium at Badger Ridge Middle School.Choir and orchestra members should arrive at Badger Ridge by 6:00 p.m. for warm-ups with their ensemble director. (The earlier that usual start time for this concert is for the purpose of accommodating families who also have students performing in the high school band concert later that night.)

Some grade level conferences are scheduled for the evening of the 24th. If your son/daughter is in sixth grade at BRMS or 6th or 7th grade at CKCS, please don’t schedule your conference between 6 pm - 7:30 pm on that night.

Concerts are important and dignified events. As stated in the music handbook, music students wear what is considered traditional attire for performing groups; white tops and black bottoms. School dress code does apply.

Concert attendance is a requirement for all music students and they are to remain for the entire concert (we keep all concerts to a reasonable length). We are really looking forward to sharing with you all that your child has learned already this first quarter in their music class. We look forward to seeing you on October 24th.Your support of music in your child’s education is very appreciated!

If your son/daughter needs help with transportation to the concert, please call 608-571-5085. This is phone number dedicated specifically to arranging rides to middle school music concerts. You can call to arrange a ride in advance of October 24th if you know you will need assistance, or if an unexpected conflict arises, you can call to arrange a ride on the evening of the concert.

Sincerely,

Therese Josephson & Halla Nelson
